Seniors Spotlight

Have a closer look at our Veritas Seniors this year and we begin the countdown to graduation and launch!
Will Hanlon
Will has been at Veritas since 6th grade.
HIs favorite Bible verses are:
1 Timothy 4:12 – Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Daniel 3:17-18 – “…if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold that you have set up.”
Will’s favorite memories are his surprise 18th birthday party at the Wheeler’s and every other party at the Wheeler’s house! Will is thankful and humbled to have been named Captain of his Bluegrass United Varsity Soccer Team a during his Senior year.
Will plans to attend Asbury in the fall and study Film.
We are so proud of you Will. What an honor it has been to watch you become a young man!
Emily Doran
Emily has attended Veritas since 6th grade and plans to attend Highlands College in Birmingham, Alabama on a full ride scholarship to pursue a degree in Pastoral Ministry.
Her favorite school memories involved “Getting to spend a weekend with friends in the countryside exploring and picnicking in the fields, singing karaoke in the barn, and laying amongst the flowers dreaming of the future. Every moment there felt like the world had stopped in time. It is a memory of abounding joy and peace.”Emily’s favorite Bible verse is
Proverbs 16:9, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
We are so proud of you Emily. What a joy it has been to watch you become the lovely young lady you are today!
Anna Watson
Anna came to Veritas in 7th grade.
Anna’s favorite memories are “generally hanging out and engaging in goofy shenanigans.”
Anna plans on attending Cedarville University as a biology major and pursue a career as a physician’s assistant. Anna’s favorite Bible verse is Ps. 91:4
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
We have loved having Anna at Veritas and watching her become the lovely young lady she is today!
Kiley Reynolds
This is Kiley’s first year at Veritas.
Her favorite Bible verses
43 But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:1-2
Kiley’s favorite memory is the Senior Trip to Gatlinburg… especially the Seniors very special Karaoke session. There are some real unique talents in this class of seniors. If you know, you know.
Kiley has been accepted and will attend Asbury University in the fall.
In the words of Kiley’s mom Katie, “Kiley has overcome many obstacles in her life but by opening her heart up to the Lord, and His perfect plan for her life, she has realized how faithfully our God pursues our hearts. Kiley is her family’s hero and we couldn’t be more proud of her strength, bravery and courage. Keep rising little girl… God has got great plans for you and Holy is His Name!!! To God give all the glory!”
Kiley, we absolutely love having you at Veritas this year. You are a gem!
Beverly Goodwill
Bev has attended Veritas since 6th grade.
Her favorite Bible verse is
Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Her favorite memory was the Winter Trip.
Beverly has been accepted and will attend Asbury in the fall.
We are so proud of the young woman she is becoming. We love you Bev!!!
Trent Maggart
Trent has attended Veritas since 6th grade.
His favorite Bible verse is
“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” Matthew 6:33-34
Trent is accepted and attending Asbury University in the fall. He will major in business and spanish.
Trent’s favorite memory is “Night at the Academy and just generally hanging out.”
Retta Wheeler
Retta has been at Veritas for 11 years.
Her favorite quote is: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” from The Little Prince
Retta shares, “My favorite memory with my classmates is our senior trip to Santa Rosa Beach. I will always remember the fun we had on the beach and talking around the dinner table.”
Retta plans to attend Asbury University to get a business degree and eventually train service or therapy dogs.
We are so proud of you Retta. It is a joy to watch you become a young woman!
Maggie Perry
Maggie has been with Veritas since 3rd grade.
Maggie’s favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
In Maggie’s words, “The senior trip over spring break is now one of my most treasured memories, but even more than specific events, my favorite memories with this class were found in the little moments over the years: the inside jokes, the sleepovers, the 10-page papers, the Wednesday lunches out, and many more that I have not the space to write. The big moments are incredible, but it’s the little ones that I treasure the most.”
Maggie plans to attend Asbury University, majoring in either Biology or Exercise Science, and playing on the Women’s Soccer Team.
Maggie, you are an absolute jewel. What a precious privilege it has been to witness your growth and development into such a lovely and capable young woman! We love you!
Ben Livengood
Ben came to Veritas in 10th grade.
His favorite Bible Verses are Jeremiah 29:11 & Numbers 6: 24
Favorite memories include talking politics in Mrs. Fredericks class, speaking truth and basketball with my team and coach Lane Davidson.
