Every year we hold the Veritas Mercantile to help our children learn the principles of working hard, earning, saving, and decision making. To help incorporate this idea into our school day, we provide each teacher with a sack of “shillings.”  This money is in the form of coins that can be given to the children at the teacher’s discretion as an incentive for a job well done. Teachers can award coins for any behavior that they want to promote in the class–promptness in the morning, good handwriting, turning in assignments on time, doing extra assignments, paying attention in class, etc. We ask that you help your child keep track of these copper and silver rewards so they will be ready for the first market. If you see these little coins floating around, please don’t throw them in the trash. The copper ones have been lovingly hand-hammered by our students and staff for use at the Mercantile.

Donation opportunity provided.
