Patriots finish 3rd at State

Veritas Christian Academy Varsity Patriots battled back from a 12-point deficit to defeat NorthSide 61–55 on Saturday, powered by a dominant double-double from Nathan Maggart, who poured in 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Trailing 27–18 at halftime and 48–43 late in the third quarter, the Patriots responded with a decisive 10–0 run and completely took control in the fourth, outscoring NorthSide 27–11. Maggart scored 10 of his points in the final period, while Jonas Greene added 21 points and knocked down four three-pointers. Additional contributions came from Josh Strong (8), Hayes Davidson (3), Isaiah Cummings (2), and Ellis Maggart (2) in a total team effort that saw Veritas shoot 17-of-32 inside the arc and secure 26 rebounds.

This hard-fought victory secured a 3rd place finish in the 2026 KCSAA State Championship tournament—an outstanding accomplishment for the Patriots on the state stage. Even more impressive, four Veritas players earned All-Tournament honors, a testament to their consistency, toughness, and impact throughout the tournament run.
